Preparations For the Craft Mela

We recently talked about organising a craft mela in our school. All the things displayed there were prepared by the underprivileged children who were selected in the competitions in guidance of our group members Angad and Sheffi. The diyas were decorated by 4 girls living in Bengali Market, South City 2, Gurgaon who were selected through our first competition. Third Location: Bagia School

The 3rd location of our project was in Bagia School. Bagia is an NGO running in South City 2 who aim at primary education for the underprivileged. We talked to them and arranged a date to conduct a drawing competition in their school. The date was 11th October 2011. Over 100 children participated in the competition with a lot of enthusiasm. Several of them possessed qualities of an artist, the only need is to enhance that talent. First Stop: South City II, Gurgaon

The phase 1 of our project happened in South City II’s Bengali Market on 7th of  October 2011. About 20 underprivileged children came to participate in the drawing competition. They were mainly of the age group of 7-13 and participated with a lot of passion and enjoyement. And what were the results? Some of them did have the talent which could make them a good artist in the future! For the first hour they indulged themselves in drawing and for the next, they had fun dancing and singing.
